The Onion Skin Journal is an independent journal brand based in the United States. We offer lay-flat journals made with rare 100% wood pulp onion skin paper, produced by select bookmakers through a combination of traditional and contemporary methods. 2. USE OF THE SITE
By using this Site, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, or are accessing the Site under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian. You agree not to use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could harm the Site, its users, or The Onion Skin Journal. We reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, or cancel orders at our sole discretion.
3. PRODUCTS
We take care to represent our journals and their materials as accurately as possible. Because onion skin paper is a natural, living material, slight variations in texture, translucency, and finish are inherent to the product and are not considered defects. They are part of what makes each journal its own.
Variations and longevity across all materials — including paper, binding, cover materials, and hardware — can vary depending on a number of factors: natural variation within the materials themselves, availability of specific components, the inherent nature of handworked and organic materials, or human error in the making process. These are not grounds for return unless the product arrives in an unusable condition. We encourage you to reach out if you have concerns about your order.
Product images are for illustrative purposes. Actual appearance may vary due to screen calibration or natural material variation.
4. PRICING & PAYMENT
All prices are listed in USD and are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors at any time. Payment is collected at the time of order. We accept major credit cards and other payment methods as indicated at checkout. By providing payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method.
5. ORDERS & CANCELLATIONS
Once an order has been placed and confirmed, we are unable to guarantee changes or cancellations, particularly for made-to-order items. If you need to modify an order, please contact us immediately at info@theonionskinjournal.com and we will do our best to accommodate you before the order is processed.
6. SHIPPING & DELIVERY
We ship to addresses within the United States and select international destinations. Estimated delivery times are provided at checkout and are not guaranteed. The Onion Skin Journal is not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, customs, or circumstances beyond our control.
Risk of loss and title for items purchased from the Site pass to you upon delivery to the carrier. We are not responsible for packages lost, stolen, or damaged after leaving our hands. If your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos and order information.
7. RETURNS & EXCHANGES
We stand behind what we make. If something is not right with your order, please reach out within 14 days of delivery. We review each situation individually and will work with you toward a resolution.
To be eligible for a return or exchange, items must be unused, in their original condition, and in original packaging. The following are not eligible for return:
- Made-to-order or personalized items
- Items purchased on sale or as final sale
- Digital products or downloads
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item arrived damaged or incorrect. Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 7–10 business days of receiving the return.
8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All content on this Site — including but not limited to text, photography, product imagery, brand copy, and design — is the property of The Onion Skin Journal and is protected by copyright and intellectual property law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content from this Site without express written permission.
