For those who need more room. At nearly 8.25 × 11.75 inches, nearly the size of a full sheet of paper, this journal offers onion skin paper at a scale that welcomes watercolor, expansive notation, large sketches, or simply the luxury of space on the page.

Inside are 200 pages of blank onion skin paper, thin and slightly translucent with a durability that outlasts expectations. With time and writing, the pages develop a gentle cockled finish that feels less like wear and more like weathering. The journal begins to look like it has lived.

A reversible insert provides a line guide on one side and a dot grid on the other when needed. The hard linen cover opens flat and stays there. Saddle-sewn binding.

I’m conflicted about this paper. It’s a good paper that crinkles in an ASMR way and gives pleasant feedback sounds with the right kind of nib, but it has SIGNIFICANT LIMITATIONS. A pro is that the paper can show the shading properties of certain inks that are written with pens that range from Extra Fine, Fine, Fine-Medium, and maybe Medium. If you write with Medium or bigger nibs, there can be SIGNIFICANT FEATHERING. However, a con is that no matter the nib size or inks I used, there’s SIGNIFICANT GHOSTING on the opposite side of the page that limits you to only be able to use one side of this expensive paper, and that is unfortunate. I will enjoy testing what this paper can do, but I won’t buy it again. If you buy this paper journal, be aware of its limitations. If you are on a budget, don’t buy this paper. Do your research to find papers you can write on both sides with any nib size or ink.

over the years I've purchased dozens of beautiful journals...they still sit empty, blank pages. The Onion Skin Journal paper invites me to write, day after day. I stamp it, I write on it, I sketch on it, I tape photos and notes to it. I love it. Getting thoughts out of my brain and on to a page has been a wonderful exercise...one that I repeat day after day. The sound, the feel, the look...excites the senses...I look forward to my next session.

Enjoying using the onionskin journals for creating using colored pencils and journaling. The paper is fun to touch and love the sound it makes. I now have three of the larger ones and another size for daily journaling.
